Facebook and Twitter are the same, yet different at the same time.

Out of all the questions that I get asked, there is one that comes up the most. What is the difference between Facebook and Twitter?  Sure Twitter only has 140 characters per message vs Facebook that lets you creates a larger message.  That’s not the only difference between the two.

Facebook allows you to upload and link various forms of media to it’s pages, such as pictures and videos. This way families can stay up-to-date with each other. Distance does not have to mean absence.  If you can remember the old party lines where groups of people could talk together over the phone, Facebook lets multiple people chat message at the same time.  Creating groups where people can pass messages, files, and links to one another is just as easy. All of this functionality is built-in to the site, making it a one stop shop for communicating.

Twitter is limited with it’s offerings, relying on third parties to provide similar capabilities. Sure you can still upload pictures and videos. Only to other services that will provide you with a link to post. At best, you can post a message and a shortened link. If you’re looking to chat on Twitter, simply send each other direct messages. You just have.to make sure that you are following each other first.

Now I’m not saying that one is better than the other. They both have positives and negatives. In fact, you can have you Twitter posts appear on your Facebook page. The choice is yours. My pick is it use both of them. This way I can post massages to everybody.
