You worry about getting your blog on Google. I worry about using your blog.

As bloggers we are told how to improve our blogs by using this technique or that way of writing articles. I receive emails on a daily basis about how to make my blog better. Mind you, I think its pretty good. If you have something that you want me to write about, please let me know. But that is not what this is about. My point here is that here are all these suggestions on what to do with your blog, they miss out on the most simplest of things.

Let me paint a picture here. Say I find a blog that I really like. Maybe it’s a cooking blog and there’s a great recipe. Sounds good and I want to reproduce that dish. I look over the page and there is no way to print the article. Granted I try using the browser’s print command, but it just doesn’t work for some reason. What comes out of my printer is a bunch of UN-formatted garbage. What can I do?

If I can’t perform the simple function of printing a article, what is the author thinking. You give me something that requires instruction. Yet, I have no way of taking these instructions from the computer into my kitchen and make this dish. For the record, I only have desktops and laptops in my home. What is a foodie to do?

Now even I had to double check the functions on my blog.  It’s something that can easily be missed and I did. Before writing this, I added a plugin to allow you to print and create PDF files from my articles. I wish more blogs had them. If you are a blogger and don’t have a print plugin on your blog, find one and get to installed. You’ll be doing yourself and your readers a great service by doing so.

Later…rrh
